WHAT IS POROMPOMPERO!?

Definitely not a famous spanish song

Porompompero! is a funny little board game where you play with a  Porom (hexagonal grid full of bubbles, just like the real bubble paper but cuter!) and a Pompero (the vessel of the sacred liquid that creates bubbles when blown through a targetting device). You draw cards and pop the bubbles in the pattern they tell you. If you can't fit the pattern, then the Pomparty! begins.

Porompompero! was created for the "Board Game" category at the Granada Game Jam 2025, humbly winning with a horrible presentation but an amusing gameplay that everybody enjoyed.

SET UP

(All the rules and how to play are in the manual, which can be located in the zip. An english version of that will soon come. This part is for a quick reference)

First of all, you will need a Pompero. You can find these at very low prices in any convenience store. You can also manufacture your own Pompero for an infinite bubble glitch. We left a recipe that worked mildly fine for us in the manual, but you can find lots of different alquemy processes searching on the internet.

Then, you will need a Porom. This can be some bubble paper in the shape shown in the image, or you can use the app (we recommend this one as it has anxiolytic music). We don't recommend playing it on a PC, since the full satisfaction comes from exploding the bubbles with the fingers, not with mouse clicks. But you can come to this page on your phone and use that if you don't want to install the apk from here or the Play Store (reasonable, we also hate Google).

For a maximum satisfactory experience, we advise mixing both alternatives. It can be tricky depending on the resolution and the bubble paper, but you can cover your phone with the bubble paper and have the game running, basically doubling the satisfaction as well as protecting your screen from unwanted bubble explosions (they might turn your phone crazy but they won't hurt it: This game is completely phone safe as stated in the download instructions).

Finally, you will need to download and cut the cards with the bubble patterns. We recommend covering them in some sort of plastic so that they are not ruined during the Pomparties! (sadly, paper is very weak against water/soap type, but plastic is immune)

HOW TO PLAY

First of all, get your Pompero ready. 

Then, open the game in your phone or get your own created Porom. If you play with the analogic (physical) Porom, we strongly recommend painting the popped bubbles with some marker, as it makes it easier to see which bubbles you've popped.

Shuffle the cards and place them face down in the table. Then, you can start drawing cards and exploding the patterns in your Porom, one turn each.

Reading the rules you will find out how the Pomparty! works, but as a heads up, it's basically blowing bubbles to your opponents with your Pompero and they will have to grab them to keep the party alive in an intense yet relaxing back and forth. There's also a Death Pomparty! in this game, which is the same but the winner gets everything. Also, the one who wins the game gets the right to pop the bubbles in the rest of the Poroms.

You can change how the Pomparty! works to whatever fits best your desired experience. Reading the rules is advised but not mandatory, so make with the game whatever you want! Games should be an instrument, not a song after all. We just give some tools and guidelines to make it easier to play ^^

DISCLAIMER

Everything needed to play (except a Pompero) can be found in this page. The Play Store link will be available as soon as the ****** of google approve the game. I will remove the apk then, and I would suggest that when that is available, you remove this version from your phone and download the one in the play store, to avoid conflicts and all that stuff.

Also, if you see any bugs please let me know as I will continue updating the game a bit more (I'm planning to add the cards in there also, as well as more cozy details).
